Another Update... introducing Trackback
Once again I've done some updates to this site. It's not always as easy and as much fun to code everything yourself but I didn't really notice that until I tried to implement Trackback on my own. Eventually I found out there was already a PHP Class available which catered almost all of my needs (after some adjusting) and it saved me a couple of hours of work. I still had to read and understand all the code because the class wasn't perfect so again I'm left wondering whether or not I should use pre-made classes and frameworks. Well, I guess I know the answer because I like coding and designing too much, but anyway..I'll show you the updates:

Major Updates

  • Added trackback to my blog software (see: How Trackback works and/or technical specifications). People can now link using a Traceback ping and I also can ping them. I implemented this using the class PHP Trackback which had to be altered to work by the way. Contact me if you want the altered class.
  • Changed the left and right panels of this site. On the right you will now find all blog information and on the left you will find my main site sections.

Minor Changes

  • Added a 'related articles' beneath every article (when viewed as permalink - ie. with comments)
  • Changed the comment presentation.
And oh yeah, I took my Blog Rush widget down for the time being...I will check it out later when they finally get out of the testing phase, but for now I will leave it for what it is: a potentially great tool that was given to the public too soon. I hope they will fix everything, but I must say I quite enjoy the old standard digging as well :P
